The short version

The Ammo Academy is an independent U.S. LawShield Institute instructor partner. When you buy an online course through a link on this site, we earn a commission from U.S. LawShield. You pay the same price you would pay going direct — the commission comes out of U.S. LawShield's side, not yours.

What that means for what you read here

It means we have a financial interest in you buying a course, and you should read everything on this site with that in mind. That is exactly why we are telling you.

Here is how we handle it. Every state page on this site carries a section headed “What this course does — and does not do.” It lists the limitations plainly: that the coursework is not a permit, that live fire is still required where it is required, that county acceptance is not guaranteed in California, that Texas restricts who may run your range qualification, and that Delaware's course is a purchase permit rather than a carry license.

None of that helps conversion. All of it is true, and a reader deciding whether to spend money deserves it before the link, not after.

What we will not do

• We will not imply that buying a course produces a permit. No state issues a carry permit online.
• We will not claim a county, agency or state accepts a course unless we can point to a source for it.
• We will not recommend a course to someone it does not fit. If your state is not one we cover, we will say so rather than sell you something adjacent.
• We will not manufacture urgency or fear to move a $74.99 product.

Technical detail

Course links on this site point to U.S. LawShield's storefront and carry a referral identifier so the sale is attributed to us. Attribution lasts 14 days from the click. We also tag outbound links with analytics parameters so we can see which pages are useful — that data tells us which pages are working, not who you are.

Courses are created, delivered, supported and refunded by U.S. LawShield. We are not the course provider. Questions about course content, access or refunds go to them; questions about whether a course fits your situation, you can ask us.

Our in-person training

Michigan private instruction, CPL certification, group and couples training, and church safety education are delivered directly by The Ammo Academy. No affiliate relationship is involved in any of it.

Not a government agency

The Ammo Academy is a private business. We do not issue permits or licenses, we have no relationship with any issuing authority, and we cannot influence, expedite or guarantee the outcome of any application.
